Emily Sun M.Mus,
A native of Taiwan, Emily began playing the violin at the age of seven. She studied and received the scholarship of distinction at the Chinese Culture University. In 1999 she moved to Canada and attained her master degree in performance from McGill University. Her teachers included Yehonaton Berick, Mark Gothoni and Denise Lupien. Sydney Humphreys also had a great influence on her musical development. She has been playing with The Musicians of the World Symphony Orchestra. Since 2008, when she moved to Toronto, Emily has been working as a freelance chamber musician and as an orchestra musician of the Cathedral Bluff, Oshawa Durham and the Canadian Korean Symphony Orchestras. She has performed with Toronto Philharmonia, Exultate Chamber Singers and Toronto Chinese Chamber Orchestra. Every summer she participates in music festivals across Canada, Asia, USA and conducts workshops in music camps. Presently she is training to receive her qualification in Alexander Technique. Besides teaching and performing she enjoys traveling and reading. |
